The Advanced Therapies Apprenticeship Community (ATAC) went on a whirlwind tour, marking National Apprenticeship Week 2024 with a series of engaging events across the UK. From Edinburgh to Stevenage, the ATAC team took the opportunity to celebrate apprenticeships in the life sciences industry.

Beginning the week in Stevenage, ATAC then went on to Darlington, Bristol and Braintree before journeying to Edinburgh the following month for Scottish Apprenticeship Week. The days’ agenda included: speed networking allowing apprentices to meet and speak to employers within the industry, roundtables focusing on the future of ATAC and graduation ceremonies. We had a fantastic time celebrating all things apprenticeships.

Along the way, ATAC met with Gillian Keegan, the Education Secretary, at Teesside University’s National Horizons Centre. The meeting highlighted how apprenticeships are upskilling people across the country and are providing valuable support for the advanced therapies industry as it continues to grow. The Secretary of State also met with some of our ATAC to hear about their roles and ambitions.
