The first group of Science Manufacturing Technician apprentices met face-to-face for the first time as they gathered at CSR Group as part of their practical week.
12 June 2019
The Level 3 Science Manufacturing Technicians are each employed by advanced therapy companies in the UK, whilst also studying a BTEC in Applied Sciences with training provider CSR Group and receiving advanced therapy specific training from a cohort of advanced therapy companies.
The practical week consisted of three practical sessions to support their BTEC in Applied Science qualification. The apprentices practiced acid/base titration reactions, used microscopes to view the structure of organelles in animal and plant cells and burned fuels as part of an investigation to determine the calorific value of fuels. During the evening, the group listened to the advice and experience of an apprentice graduate and worked in team sessions to develop their understanding of the important behavioral element of the programme.
